I follow politics almost religiously, and not just the news, I read meeting minutes, watch legislative sessions, read proposed bills, comment on proposed bills, and I read commentary from a spectrum of sources. You could say I consider myself an over-informed voter. Despite all this I have never been very politically active aside from voting (never have missed a vote) and commenting on bills.
Today I wrote our State Senators the following:
If you fund ObamaCare I will fund any opposition to you and all other senators that support this illegal bill. The majority of people (working and productive) and polls oppose this legislative abortion. (see: http://today.uconn.edu/blog/2013/09/uconn-poll-as-obamacare-enrollment-begins-majority-unfavorable).
How can you DARE to fund something you have exempted yourself from, that is truly shameful. I will put all of my spare time and money into fighting you and those who stand with funding ObamaCare. I speak for myself and my entire family (9 voters) and most of our friends.
In addition to writing I have decide that I am entering a new phase in my life. Today, I am becoming more politically active. I plan on starting to attend the local political party meetings and possibly running for office in the next few years. I doubt I will get elected but you never know!
