Given that this is the anniversary of the Sept. 11th attack, I thought this image would be appropriate.

This is a sticker I found from when I was a kid, a long time ago.  But it reminds me of what we any of us that were old enough probably though on 9/11, life is fragile.  As time recedes we tend to forget these lessons, we tend to forget that life can change in an instant.  Honestly we live in a very safe society, but that does not mean there is no danger or we do not need to be vigilant in our protect of the fragile life we hold so dear.  So remember to handle your life and the life of others with care, because life is fragile and none of us know how long we will have it.

237 Years ago a group of men decided it was time to stand up and defend themselves against the aggressions of the State.  That singular event by a bunch of Colonials pretended to be Mohawks came to be known as the Boston Tea Party. [History Channel]  I wonder if they ever thought there actions would resonate so far and long through History.

Thought I would extend the celebration of Constitution Day a bit with this excellent series of videos.  I have seen these type of events and the actors always do such a great job of portraying the thoughts and a personality that are in line with historical writings and evidence.  This is a great introduction to some of America’s greatest men.

Today marks the establishment of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. America’s birth was truly a miracle. The Founders knew their mission had a divine destiny to produce the first free people in the history of the world.  These principles are based on the success of a moral and religious society.  Think about that, when the Founders drafted the Constitution every other nation on the Planet was ruled by a King of sorts!

It is important for all Americans and I’d argue non-Americans to understand the Constitution beyond memorizing the words.  We want civic minded citizens that take their responsibility seriously.  After all you don’t want to look like this when asked about the Constitution!…take a look:

Some may not realize the whole story of the Constitution, the thoughts, sacrifices and self-less devotion to a higher purpose that helped forge the greatest document ever written.  This little ditty is helpful in getting a better understanding and it is catchy too!

Rather then expend my own feeble attempt at expressing my understanding and deep seeded loyalty to the Constitution there is one person who always makes a better spokesmen for America…well listen for yourself…

Why should we pay attention to the Constitution?  Because so many men (and women) greater then you or me sacrificed their fortunes, positions and their very lives to secure a better future for their fellow man.

SO think about what the Constitution really means today and throughout the rest of the year.

Here is an additional history references for the kids that I know, especially those who love History: President Fact Sheets.
