In life when we fall we don’t simply lie there and quit, we get up, we try again. If we let things keep us down then we are accepting failure. We put so much focus in life on Success that we never acknowledge the failures that led to the Success we idolize. Because of this most people assume Success comes to those who are lucky or rich or privileged. As a society we seem to be forgetting that Merit is earned not a thing of chance. Merit NOT Participation leads to Success. This is something Parents, Coaches, Teachers and Martial Arts Schools would be wise to remember.

Mas Oyama recognized that Merit leads to success in his famous quote:
“One becomes a beginner after 1,000 days of training.
One becomes a master after 10,000 days of practice.“
We fall down, we get up, we keep moving forward learning something each time we fall. That is the Path to Success.

Another Great Man that I like to Quote is General George S.
