Here Mas Oyama appears to be executing the first move of the Pinan Shodan Kata executing a Chudan Soto Uke (mid\u00addle outside block) with his left arm and an Jodan Age Uke (upper block\/side arm strike sometimes referred as a bump block).  In the background you can see an award, his Goju-ryu credentials, training equipment and some interesting dolls. According to those who visited Mas Oyama&#8217;s home he had a note on his house saying &#8220;Beware of fierce men&#8221;.
