{"id":938,"date":"2010-04-19T01:57:14","date_gmt":"2010-04-19T05:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karatetraining.org\/weblog\/?p=938"},"modified":"2023-04-11T15:18:06","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T19:18:06","slug":"external-needs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karatetraining.org\/weblog\/external-needs\/","title":{"rendered":"Meditation Point #129 &#8211; External Needs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Water does not wash water.<br \/>\nGold is not changed for gold.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>T&#8217;<span>EN-T&#8217;UNG<\/span><\/p>\n<p>No matter how perfect we become we can not live in isolation.\u00a0 We need other people or our development becomes retarded through stagnation leading to narrow-mindedness which is the path away from enlightenment.\u00a0 The same can happen to those who only associate with like minded people.\u00a0 Broadening your hoizons is important but there is a danger in &#8216;broadening&#8217; our experiences.\u00a0 When we are exposed to different perspectives, opinions and world-views we will be exposed to many truths, non-truths, and misconceptions.\u00a0 When we do not fully understand our own thinking or how to discern the Truth we are in peril of following the opposite or some shade of the Truth.\u00a0 This is the process of enlightenment, of understanding.\u00a0 Unfortunately we stop the search and settle in our misconceptions and half-truths forever lost from the Truth, understanding and enlightenment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Water does not wash water.
