Abuse Officially Being Ignored…

Well the Politically Correct Train is coming full circle. Unfortunately this means the creation of a very dangerous president that goes against any sense of justice, well almost any… The main stream media aren’t reporting the following story and surprisingly I have not found any Women’s groups banging the drums yet either. So we at Karate Traing.org are going to! This story is one in several we have seen recently in what appears to be a growing and dangerous trend that threatens our sense of justice and freedom. In Australia the Police are being told to employ two forms of justice, one for Muslims and one for everyone else! Now you are probably thinking that they are discriminating against the Muslims, guess again. The Police were told not to enforce domestic violence laws when dealing with Muslim families! Instead they are supposed to refer the problem to the local mosque! Why you ask? Because wife beating is a basic part of Islamic traditions and habits, that’s right folks, the religion of peace promotes wife beating.

Now as a Martial Artist and advocate of Women’s Self-Defense I find this latest move appalling. It amazes me that we are so ready to role back the advances in Women’s and Human rights fought so hard to attain over the past 100 years in the name of religious tolerance. I know my writing this will probably incur the wrath of some…to bad! If there is one lesson history has taught me it is that those who stand for justice can not remain silent. As a Martial Artist I must stand for justice or I am a fraud as a Martial Artist. So I stand here and ask all Martial Artists to speak out and stand up for justice and stand against the creation and acceptance of laws or policies based in Theocracy that fly in the face of justice. I am sure some will argue that all Law is based in some religious pretense, and I respond by agreeing, but if that be the case then we must challenge the teachings of religions that promote the depreciation of basic human rights and place one group over another.

Before I forget, here is an excerpt from the article: From The Australian Herald Sun: Police are being advised to treat Muslim domestic violence cases differently out of respect for Islamic traditions and habits. Officers are also being urged to work with Muslim leaders, who will try to keep the families together. Women’s groups are concerned the politically correct policing could give comfort to wife bashers and keep their victims in a cycle of violence. The instructions come in a religious diversity handbook given to Victorian police officers that also recommends special treatment for suspects of Aboriginal, Hindu and Buddhist background. Some police officers have claimed the directives hinder enforcing the law equally. Police are told: “In incidents such as domestic violence, police need to have an understanding of the traditions, ways of life and habits of Muslims.” They are told it would be appreciated in cases of domestic violence if police consult the local Muslim religious leader who will work against “fragmenting the family unit”.
