International Simon Bolivar Cup Competition
Events & HolidaysKarate contestants from 13 countries have confirmed participation in the International Simon Bolivar Cup, which will be held in Venezuela next week. Athletes from France, Cuba, Colombia, Canada, El Salvador, Trinidad & Tobago, Brazil, Egypt, Guatemala, Ecuador, the US and a strong Venezuelan representation will compete in individual and collective kata (female and male), female kumite (combat) in 53, 60 and over 60 kg, male kumite in 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 and over 80 kg, and the open category in both sexes.
Venezuela will present 20 teams in the event, including their two national teams.
One of the athletes who confirmed participation is Canadian Katarina Vadovicova, gold medal in the female kata competition in the Open Tournament of Germany.
