Martial Arts In Action!
Law Enforcement . News . Self-DefenseIn Edmonton, Canada, a 25-year-old man walking to a north-end store Tuesday night fought off an attacker using martial arts mastery, police say. Around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, two men sporting white bandannas approached the man near 121 Street and 150 Avenue, police say. One man demanded the 25-year-old hand over his wallet. After he refused, the would-be robber tried to assault him. But the man used a brachial stun technique (An open-hand slapping strike applied to the brachial nerve area at the side of the neck.) to drop his attacker to the ground. The second suspect immediately fled. The 25-year-old finished his trip to the store and called police when he got home. The investigation continues.
Two important lessons here, first react immediately before your opponents get the upper hand and make the first strike count! But there is one question we thought of…why didn’t he use the phone at the store?!
