Chinese New Year: Day 7
Events & HolidaysToday is day 7 in the 15 day celebration of the Chinese New Year.
Today is the day for farmers to display their produce. These farmers make a drink from seven types of vegetables to celebrate the occasion. In many ways this is a celebration of prosperity and life, a day of thanks giving and a day to pray for a bountiful year to come.
The most interesting thing about this day (for me) the the fact that the seventh day is also considered the birthday of human beings. It seems interesting to me that like Genesis, the Chinese New Year recognizes the 7th day as the creation or birth of Man. Noodles are eaten to promote longevity and raw fish for success. I’m going to have some Noodles but think I’ll take my chances with success!
