In Defense of Women

It is good news when we see a country beginning to take steps to protect it’s female population! In India, they have launched a program to use Police Training Facilities to provide Self-Defense training for women.

The Government recognizes that “Rogue elements could be taught a lesson if women are trained to defend themselves“. Recognition that criminals and those targeting women are looking for an easy target. I really hope this program works, for there is no better way to empower women than to give them the tools and power to defend themselves!

Hopefully this program will spread to other states within India. This program is an important piece toward a safer society in conjunction with other Laws that have been passed, programs formulated, and funds have been spent to stop harassment and atrocities on women. We seem to forget when Women are safer, the who society is safer.
