The secret of health for both mind and body
Live
A Zen ThingMeditation Point #117
The secret of health for both mind and body
is not to mourn for the past,
worry about the future, or
anticipate troubles,
but to live
in the present moment
wisely and earnestly.

I’m glad to hear the post helped. Grief and mourning are difficult and time does little to truly heal our loss. We should use our memories to help us forge a better future, a better now. Our memories should help us become better people and to avoid repeating our own mistakes as well as those of our history. Easier said then done but possible.
I do like this particular quote but think I prefer the Australian version much better: No Worries Mate!
Peace.
This quote was well timed tonight. I have been overwhelmed with memories of my dad the past 2 days and found my mourning for the past was negatively affecting the present. Memories are not in and of themselves bad but the fact is we are living in the now – the present – and we must be diligent and focus as to not cloud our minds.
