Failure is an Option
For Kids . Quotes . Training notes . VideoI came across this old Nike Commercial that has an awesome message. Everyone should watch this daily!
This message is especially important for kids to learn, to often we put the emphasis on winning, succeeding and forget to remember that failure is the first step toward success.

But it is important to make a distinction in what kind of failure. You can fail in many ways and you should pick the best way to fail.
For example: you get into a fight with someone who appears to be much stronger. You notice this only while fighting.
2 possible ways of failure:
1. Get beaten up.
2. Run!
Option 2 keeps you alive and is the best failure.

I think there is far too much emphasis on winning and succeeding at all cost in today’s society. As you say, people forget or are not aware that failure is a necessary step towards success, it’s part of the learning and growth process and people should be aware that failure is to be expected, numerous times, before any kind of success is achieved. Then maybe people wouldn’t feel so bad about failing and would perhaps start to look at failure as a positive instead of a negative, an opportunity for growth. Good point.
