Around The Rings is reporting that the Olympic Sports Report due out today could announce the inclusion of Karate to the 2012 Summer Games. This would be a huge boost for the Martial Arts world-wide. Entry into the games will mark the maturity of Karate and significantly increase the stature of the discipline. I say discipline instead of sport because to me labeling Karate as a sport diminishes its focus and history. Additional details will be posted once the Olympic committee makes its announcement.
