Independence Day 2014!

In celebration of Today, the 4th or July, I thought I would share some quotes from the men who sacrificed so much that we could be a free and independent people.  Between hot dogs and backyard games, we should all take a moment to reflect on the words and actions of these men everyday but especially on this day.

The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all others, charity.
— Benjamin Franklin

Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right…and a desire to know; but besides this, they have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge, I mean of the characters and conduct of their rulers.
— John Adams

The distinctions between Virginians, Pennsylvanians, New Yorkers, and New Englanders are no more. I Am Not A Virginian, But An American!
— Patrick Henry

A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves… and include all men capable of bearing arms.
— Richard Henry Lee

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government
— Thomas Jefferson

The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good
— George Washington

Self-Defense: Proof of Importance

This week Target’s interim CEO, John Mulligan, announced “starting today we will also respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target – even in communities where it is permitted by law.“.

It seems Target’s new CEO is trying to have his cake and eat it too!  He seems to be pandering to the Anti-Second Amendment crowd with language they can interpret as they want; or if they aren’t that blind then they see this as a step in the right direction.

Despite Moms Demand Action and Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun group very quick Victory Dance and viral comments, they seem to have lost their ability to understand basic English.  That or Target’s Interim CEO doesn’t understand the words he is using.  From the above “respectfully request” is merely a request not a real ban…right?  Luckily someone decided to ask Target to clarify, according to The Columbian,

Molly Snyder, a Target spokeswoman, said the retailer will not post signs at its stores asking people not to bring guns inside. “It is not a ban,” she said. “There is no prohibition.”  She said the company decided to make this statement after hearing from people on all sides of this issue.

I have to say this is probably the biggest non-story ever, yet everyone seems so excited.  I mean Target might as well have announced they are changing their logo from white and red pattern to a red and white pattern!  Fortunately, absolutely nothing has changed  and you can still carry your legal self-defense weapon while shopping.

Since this story is a great opening to discuss the effectiveness of guns for self-defense/preservation.  And the Anti-Second Amendment crowd always seems to fall back to the “that is what we have police for” argument, followed by plugging their ears and repeating, “nah nah I can’t hear you“.  We have to be honest, the Anti-Second Amendment “supporters” are using emotional arguments that do not hold up to logic.  Unfortunately not many people use critical thinking and get caught up in the emotions of “gun violence”.  This is nothing new, manipulators use emotions to motivate/influence a crowd.  But what about the claim that we do not need to protect ourselves, because we have a dedicated Police Force?

If that is so true, why do most Police departments hold or sponsor Self-Defense classes?  To really see how often people need their Second Amendment Rights to protect and preserve themselves, check this out… Here is the Proof that the Right to Bear Arms is a matter of life or death: Great Map of Incidents where Privately Owned Guns Save Lives

Critical Thinking by John Wayne

This is an interesting interview with John Wayne, from 1975.  It is interesting because what he says in directly applicable to current events.  The Duke speaks to the tactics used by liberals then and still in use today.  Yes, John Wayne is something of a hero for me.  Yes, John Wayne wasn’t his real name; the audio is important for what he says, not necessarily who is saying it.

LANGUAGE WARNING, the audio contains some swears and curses that may not be appropriate for children.

The audio starts out with this quote… “Hell yes, I’m a liberal. I listen to both sides before I make up my mind. Doesn’t that make you a liberal? Not in today’s terms, it doesn’t. These days, you have to be a fucking left-wing radical to be a liberal. Politically, though … I’ve mellowed.”

Another great John Wayne quote:
“I’m quite sure that the concept of a Government-run reservation… seems to be what the socialists are working for now — to have everyone cared for from cradle to grave…. But you can’t whine and bellyache ’cause somebody else got a break and you didn’t, like those Indians are. We’ll all be on a reservation soon if the socialists keep subsidizing groups like them with our tax money.”- John Wayne

The audio is from TonyMacklin.net, the interview took place in 1975.  The complete interview can be heard here.

Because Self-Defense is that Important

Some will take issue with the following graphic, to bad.  Self-Defense is to important an issue to tip-toe around, if you want to be a victim then by all means I will not stand in your way, however you should not require other to be victims against their will!  History speaks for itself, this graphic make it clear that no matter how “pure” your motives may be, if you lobby for gun control then you are aligned with some the most evil leaders in history.  That doesn’t make you evil, just misguided, like so many before you.  Unlike them however you have a choice, you can educate yourself or you can blindly follow evil.  Here is the list:

historical-gun-control-stances

The majority of gun control advocates that I have spoken with as well as their written arguments usually boil down to fear; they are afraid and they want to feel safe.  Fear is not a good motivator for any decision, it usually leads to an emotional response which is devoid of logic or reason.  I always like to ask this question, why?  I continue asking why and eventually you often get an honest answer.  Then I always like to ask, one guns are controlled, what is next?  Believe me and History, there is always a next…(see the above list)…

Rules do not make the world safe.  Rules set a standard for all of us, I am not against rules.  However, rules do nothing to keep us safe; look at all the mass shootings, all of them have occurred in “Gun Free Zones”.  You don’t read about the shootings in other places because typically someone with a gun stopped the shooter.  My point is if you depend on the rules, the law, to keep you safe you will be greatly and perhaps fatally disappointed.  The Police cannot be everywhere, nor do I think we want them everywhere, that is however what the men in the second row of the image want, total control.

In Ancient China and Japan it was against the law for citizens (the working class) to possess or learn to use weapons.  Over the course of centuries the people taught themselves how to defend against the government oppressors, but at great human cost.  Thankfully today because of their efforts we have the Martial Arts, Karate, Kung Fu, etc.  Their techniques were appropriate and while disadvantaged effective given the weapons of the time.  Guns changed all that.  Any Martial Artist or Self-Defense expert will tell you, if you face a gun, comply unless you feel that regardless the outcome will be fatal; even then you have to be within arms length to have a prayer of survival.  That only applies against a single gunman.  What can the masses do against a dozen without massive human sacrifice and still no assurance of victory.   Given the weapons of today our only protection in some situations and always against a government are guns, even then with the advanced weapons available that is questionable.  But better to have a chance then stand as sheep before the slaughter.  Self-Defense is a choice; it is a Right, a Natural Right.  If you want to give up your right, to place your well being in the hands of another, please do so, but do not try to regulate the rights of others, to do so is to side with Evil.

Can they disarm us?

This the strongest 2nd amendment argument I have heard, that explains what is happening today…

Ultimately, they can only disarm us if we let them…

And if that doesn’t put things in perspective, try these “numbers” on for size:

Meet Robert Steed, a resident of Vernon, Connecticut who took three days straight off work to attend several gun control hearings in Connecticut. There isn’t a lot I can add to his testimony.

Robert Steed did a great job!

I am not sure which Representative dais this, he is clearly visible in the video (if you know who he is please post it in the comment section), but his word choice was interesting:

“As long as we live in an open and free democratic society your not going to be able to get a handle on all of the violence in our society.  …You’ll  get a better handle on it in a Dictatorship where they take all your guns and watch your every move….” …”we don’t want to go down that road”…

I believe in reading between the lines, especially with politicians.  First I thought to even bring a dictatorship up in the debate was interesting, but notice his wording at the end.  …”We don’t want to go down that road”  Wouldn’t it have been more appropriate (if you felt the need to even go there) to end with, but that will never happen in here, in this country.

On March 19th he was back at it again…

In follow-up testimony Robert Steed again knocks the ball out of the park!  Here it is:

No More Karate Electoral College!!

ktadmin Posted in History, Karate, Politics,Tags: , , , , ,

You read right, it is all the rage, we are tired of going to competitions and having to deal with this insanely unfair Karate Electoral College.  The last competition I went to was so unfair, the vast majority of the people at the competition chose me as the winner.  It was clear by the crowds reaction, by the energy in the room, even an electronic poll they were running (American Idol style) had me the clear winner.  So what happened?  Some judges ruled that my opponent won and I lost!  That was the most unfair experience of my life and the crowd agreed.  Wouldn’t you?  Shouldn’t the most popular contestant win?  Shouldn’t the people be able to choose the winner, I mean they are watching the fight, they know!!  That is why we need to get rid of the Karate Electoral College!

Alright that didn’t happen quiet that way.  I am from a very small club, low budget, low body count.  What chance do we have at a competition?  Well if it is run fairly then a pretty good chance.  I have been to both, fair and unfair competitions, they look the same from the outside, they look the same to the crowd.  The illusion part is easy for the crowd, the contestants always know, but who do they complain to?

Democracy sucks.  The big clubs/schools, with the 500 students win.  The small clubs/schools don’t have a voice.  Democracy is High School, there are the popular kids (who can do anything up to and including murder), the normal kids (geeks – perspective people) and then there are the wanna-be’s (that is the crowd that want to be part of the popular kid club but are to self-deluded to see that they never will be and that the popular kids aren’t really that nice).  Yes I stereotype 😉

Perhaps, a popular vote wouldn’t be all that fair for anyone other than the person who can gain 51% support.  In other words the club/school who brings the most members has the best chance of winning.  Not very fair for the smaller clubs/schools!  Does that mean the Karate Electoral College is actually more fair?!  This video may shed some light on the matter, let me know what you think in the comments section…

The 2nd Ammendment

Think you know what the 2nd amendment is for, think the world safe, think you know what you are talking about?  Invest 7 minutes, watch the video and perhaps you will be able to answer these questions honestly.  Or you can remain blind and deceived by the lord of lies and his minions…

IF only our citizens would elect someone with this much honesty and fortitude.  Alas we would rather elect a celebrity than a leader or statesman.  How blind are ‘we the people’ that we continue to be so short sighted…

PS:  I’ve been looking for a reason to use the world minions!!
